The Inner Sun: Smashing the Seed of Shame through Chakra Healing and Kung Fu Wisdom
Have you ever stood beneath the sun, feeling its warmth permeate your being, and recognized a similar power within yourself? Our latest episode embarks on such an exploration, delving into the solar plexus chakra's energy and its battle with the shadow of shame. Through heartfelt anecdotes and personal revelations, we unravel how this inner sun can guide us towards self-worth and intentional living. The journey doesn't shy away from the murky waters of shame, as we reveal how meditation can serve as a powerful vessel, allowing us to confront and transform this stifling emotion. Alongside plenty of banter, we investigate the chakras' intertwined roles in our lives, with a special focus on gratitude's radiant ability to dissolve shame's grip.
Ever wondered how coaching others in self-love could fuel not just their transformation, but also your own financial prosperity? In a candid chat, we discuss the profound realization that when we pour love into the crevices of grief and loss, we birth a new connection that transcends our pain. We dissect the concept of success, challenging the traditional chase for wealth and redirecting our compass towards health, love, and passion. The conversation ignites with the stories of breaking free from the chains of shame, and how self-acceptance can be the most potent weapon in our arsenal for personal growth.
Finally, we take a lighter turn, reminiscing about the old-school charm of kung fu and its teachings on personal mastery, confidence, and aligning the chakras for ultimate power. With a chuckle, we introduce the whimsical idea of 'mirror kung fu,' a way to engage with the martial art's discipline and grace, minus the bruises. The episode closes by connecting the dots between martial arts principles and the art of self-empowerment, emphasizing that the true mastery lies in loving ourselves through every step of our transformational odyssey. Join us for this heartfelt and evocative episode, where the laughter is as liberating as the lessons learned.

I want to see how, how he wants to fight himself.
Zuri Star:I want to see how, how opposing.
Mike Star:I could be right and I've always thought that, you know, I could actually probably get into kung fu. But I don't like being hit in the face.
Zuri Star:Yeah.
Mike Star:You know what I'm saying. Yeah so there's. There's a point where kung fu is cool, but in order to practice kung fu, you're gonna have to get hit in the face a couple times during the course today.
Zuri Star:You're gonna get hit a lot and kicked and yeah.
Mike Star:Yeah, so instead I go for the mirror kung fu, which the only time I can get hurt is if I get too close to the mirror.

Mike Star:I I had the pleasure of jumping timelines today. Very intense process, good process if you do so deliberately.
Mike Star:Bad process if you do so haphazardly, um, haphazardly, by making a, a bad decision and going backwards and going backwards, and you know when you are In decision-making mode, those decisions that you make will impact which timeline you jump onto Right. So, just today, I decided to uh, while you were I getting some much needed slumber, I decided to uh meditate and, um, I have been Playing with, uh, not playing with, but I've been studying the chakra system and I use that as a way of designing my meditations. You know, every time I think of the chakra system, I think of the spiritual component, of how the body is intermingled with the physical body. The spiritual body is intermingled with the physical body, right? So, looking at the things that I was suffering from, I I felt like I needed to. You know, I felt depleted, I felt tired, I felt kind of drained and burnout burnout exactly and um you know.
Mike Star:Those are all symptoms of the solar plexus. The solar plexus gives you the the. It's your, your power source, your battery source. You know it's the uh, it's the, the body's representation of the sun right, and how the sun Populates our, our gala or solar system with its energy and then looking at what's happening seasonally and following the patterns of the season part of your Uh renewal process, right. Yeah, I, I found, my, I find myself to be uh tied to nature more often than Uh, not because a we're surrounded by it.
Zuri Star:Yeah, it's where we live.
Mike Star:It's where we live intentionally and it has. It has, uh, afforded me a lot of um, a lot of growth and healing. Mm. So I'm just kind of tapping into the, to the, the powers that be, and um. So I did a, a meditation and um, it was life changing.
Zuri Star:It is life changing and we're going to talk all about it today, but first we're going to talk about Well, let me ask you this, because I want you to tell your experience and your story of expansion but what made you want to do the solar plexus?
Mike Star:Well, you and I have um we we've together studied the chakra system and we talked about it on our show and we talked about our show.
Zuri Star:And um it's your seven wheels of spinning hacking your energy centers. Those are. They go deep into the chakra system.
Mike Star:Exactly, and I feel like it does a very good job of providing someone with the Um, the user manual right for our bodies and how they work energetically, spiritually, emotionally, physically, yep, um, and how, you know everything is, everything in the body is connected to include our thoughts, right? So, based off of that information, I'm like you know what I think I need, to you know, check and see what's going on with my battery. So I did a little bit more research about um, the solar plexus, and the very first question that I asked was well, what blocks?
Mike Star:Blocks, the chakra blocks that chakra, or or or dampens it or reduces its power. Let's just, let's just cover what blocks each chakra.
Zuri Star:So if you start with the root chakra, that uh represents safety, that's the the root chakra where all of your security, your safety Lives. So it can be blocked by fear and your root chakra, of course, is is located.
Mike Star:Panavita, at the bottom of your pelvis, the color is associated with red.
Zuri Star:Yes, Okay, and then the second is your sacral chakra, and that governs your satisfaction. So how it's blocked is by guilt, correct.
Mike Star:And it's. It's located, uh, pretty much in between your navel, like right over, just just underneath your navel, just under the yeah, maybe like an inch tube underneath your navel, okay, and then the next is solar plexus chakra, and that's your steadiness, or your personal power, and that is blocked by shame, by shame, and that's, of course, located uh right where your Um, your ribs split, right in your, your sternum, and that color, of course, is yellow, mm-hmm.
Zuri Star:And then, uh, next is your heart and that is governed by love and it is blocked by grief, and that, of course, is adjacent to your heart right smack in in the middle of your chest.
Mike Star:It's not on the left hand side where your heart is, but it kind of right smack in the middle. It's colors, green, and the next is throat.
Zuri Star:And that is governed by communication Mm-hmm, and it is blocked by lies or the lie you tell yourself and that's located right smack in the middle of your throat and the color associated with that is blue.
Mike Star:And then there's your third eye.
Zuri Star:And that is governed by consciousness and it's blocked by attachment and it's located. You know, it's called your third eye.
Mike Star:So imagine, right smack in the middle of your eyebrow, just a maybe a tad Uh a half inch above your eyebrow, and that color is associated with indigo, mm-hmm, and then there's crown chakra and it's governed by the connection to cosmic oneness and it's blocked by the other chakras being out of alignment.
Zuri Star:So you can see how it's important to. If you want to feel connected, you need to have a connection. If you want to feel connected, you need to align all of your other chakras and it's very interesting if you think about one of them being blocked and that is making you feel a disconnection from source, a disconnection from your partner, a disconnection from anything. So, um, let's talk a little bit about shame, because today's episode is going to be Focusing on shame and how it ties into an experience my cat with a solar plexus meditation, and he's also going to give you that meditation, which is a beautiful gift. So shame is very complex. It's often thought of as a painful emotion that is experienced when we feel that we have failed to meet certain standards or expectations. It can arise in response to a wide range of situations, such as making a mistake, behaving inappropriately quote unquote or being rejected or judged by others. So if you grew up around somebody very critical, you could see how you're carrying Not your own shame, but their shame. Correct Shame can manifest in different ways, such as feeling embarrassed, humiliated or guilty. It can also lead to negative self-talk, self-blame and a sense of worthlessness or inferiority. People who experience shame may feel isolated and disconnected from others and may struggle with intimacy and relationships.
Zuri Star:Shame can be a natural response to certain situations and can serve as a signal that we need to reevaluate our behavior or attitudes. However, when shame is excess, in excess or excessive or persistent, it can be detrimental to our mental health and well-being. Shame can lead to depression, anxiety and other mental health issues, and can make it difficult to take risk. Try new things, pursue our goals. Treatment for shame often involves addressing the underlying causes of the emotion, such as past trauma, negative self-beliefs or unrealistic expectations. Therapy, self-help techniques and support from loved ones can all be helpful in overcoming shame and building a more positive sense of self-worth. And as the empowerment couple, we have come to find that there are several different healing modalities for shame, and we're going to uncover some of them with you today. It will be an ongoing journey, because this is definitely one of the things that disempowers you the most is that solar plexus is blocked, and it's blocked by shame.
Mike Star:And anytime I think about the solar plexus. When I was doing my work, I had some heartbreak, I had some childhood trauma and I went through a full forgiveness journey, and that forgiveness journey really healed my heart chakra and flooded my various chakras with a lot of loving energy, which also is known as awareness. So I became a little bit more aware. And when you become more aware, you also become more aware of your shame. You shine a light on something and you're going to see a full dose of it.
Mike Star:So imagine, while I was doing this meditation, I had a flashlight and I went into my solar plexus and I turned it on and I realized that it was packed with shame. There's so much shame that I had shoved down in there when I was a kid, in my 20s, 30s, 40s, every activity that I did that I felt bad about myself. I just put it in there. You're packing some luggage and if you think about it in terms of weight, it was very, very heavy. If you think in terms of light, it was very, very dim. So imagine that your solar plexus is wired to every one of your chakras, and that's really the case with all your chakras. They're all connected and they all affect each other differently.
Zuri Star:And some of them are in pairs. Explain that.
Mike Star:Yeah, I'll get there in just a second. So imagine your solar plexus. It radiates energy. See it, like I said, as the sun in our solar system. You remove that sun, you're not going to have life on any planet, let alone ours. So imagine, and those planets will kind of dissipate, because it's that, the gravity of that sun, that's holding them together. Same thing is true with your solar plexus. So imagine your solar plexus is wired into all of your other chakras. So if you have a dim solar plexus, you will have a dim heart chakra, you'll have a dim throat chakra, which means you're not going to access higher values of love, you're not going to be able to communicate on a more deeply deep level, you're not going to be able to see the beauty, you're not going to be able to experience the level of life that is there.
Mike Star:And for me, because I was dealing with so much grief, everything that I saw out there started. You know the other physical things, right, the things that money can buy. I saw them as things that I can't get. So I would pass. You know, as a kid I remember driving through Los Angeles, which was a very, very and still is a very, very affluent city, and you see Mercedes Benz and you see, you know all the Lamborghinis and the houses on the hill, and that's not what I was experiencing as a kid. As a kid, you know, as a kid you know, we had a humble little home in the, in the suburb, which was very nice, but personally I felt like all those things were inaccessible to me because I was not worthy.
Mike Star:And the words that you attached to them were Like I can't, I can't get that, or you know, I can't get that because that person has this. You know, everything was in comparison. Right.
Mike Star:And I always found myself to be at the losing end of that comparison. Right Now, gratitude would turn around and be like well, look at all the things you have. But when you deal with a lot of shame, what it does is it is. It creates a pattern of shame, and that pattern of shame was in set, was was planted, or maybe a seed was planted when I was a child.
Zuri Star:Yeah, infant, probably an infant yeah.
Mike Star:So, as that seed was planted, anything that comes out of that seed is going to be shame. So imagine that the that that seed of shame, kind of rooted out and is now, you know, like a vine wrapped around my other chakras so that no matter what I did, no matter how hard I tried, I will never, ever escape the feeling of I can't get that done Right. So you know you sit on a bunch of projects, or you know you get halfway to making a whole lot of money and then you pull away. You know you self sabotage, like self sabotage and the solar plexi and shame, or you know they're, they're buzzing buddies.
Zuri Star:Can we just pause for a second and just I'm just so proud of you because I know like we are both coaches, but we're coaching each other often and we're also holding each other often. I'm just so proud of you that you are willing to bring this to our empowered posse and say like hey, look, I just uncovered this. And it takes a lot of strength to say this isn't totally perfect yet and I am still on this mission of growing, and I think most coaches, what I have experienced is that there's a lot of gatekeeping about their own experience. And I think what sets you apart as a coach is that you're saying I'm still on a growth journey and I am still discovering things that need more light. You know, I'm still looking for the balance in my life and instead of just holding on to it and having the experience, you're giving it back right away. You're like hey, like I came down this morning and Mike looked different and I was like Hi, and I felt different because I allowed myself to sleep in and he allowed me to sleep in.
Zuri Star:You know, he made it possible for me to sleep in and I got up and I felt like Hi and I was like oh, the energy feels different in the house. What is it? And I'm like, oh, maybe it's just that I got good rest. And then I look at Mike and I was like, oh, mike looks different. And he's like, oh, I just had the greatest meditation.
Zuri Star:And I said I was like, oh, money, like I could just smell money. It was weird and not to say that that is the only measure of you know, calling in abundance, but it does have a certain essence and I know for Mike that he has been calling in this humongous amount of money and I just sensed it. I sensed it without knowing anything about his meditation and intuitively I knew he was going to tell me something that he called in that got maybe removed or I wasn't sure exactly. But anyway, continue. I just want to honor the fact that you're doing this and say I appreciate you and I know that somebody's going to get something out of this and thank you for showing up today.
Mike Star:Well, you're welcome and thank you for also being part of that journey. Well, we'll get there in just a second. I'm going to give you some props, but in my opinion, money is a byproduct of someone serving love, and we have this banner behind a serving love, and what I did for myself is I served myself some love.
Mike Star:And it's very difficult as coaches, to serve ourselves love, because we're so ingrained about serving other people's love. So what we need to do on a regular basis is serve ourselves some love so that we can serve more people more love. And in regards to you coming down and feeling the vibration of money, well, that was emanating off of me. And here's why, when you are dealing with shame, right, and you have that shame, that vine of shame, that weed of shame kind of strangling all of your chakras, one of them is your throat chakra, which is how you express yourself, that expression, that's your gift, right, and whether it's you working a 9 to 5 job and you liking it, or you being an entrepreneur and you're liking it, you are serving the universe gifts, and then the universe will say, oh, thank you for these gifts. I'm going to ask more from you, but I'm going to give you a lot of money.
Zuri Star:I'm going to give you something in return. Whether that's fulfillment in whatever way, it doesn't always have to be money. Doesn't have to be money, but we live in a society where money is equals freedom, in the sense of the more money you make, the more you're able to do whatever the fuck you want. Correct.
Mike Star:And money is also the symbol of success, right. In this society, in this society in this day and age, and it wasn't always the same that a lot of times, success was just like OK, he's healthy, he's in love and he's doing what he likes to do You're successful right. Whereas someone could be driving a Mercedes Benz and you're like, well, this person is super successful, but they could have a crappy marriage. They can have a crappy health.
Zuri Star:Yeah, success does not equal fulfillment.
Mike Star:In fact, when money does not equal success. Exactly yeah.
Zuri Star:Yeah, continue.
Mike Star:But anyways so.
Zuri Star:Maybe take them back to the beginning of the meditation, because I think you were talking about the veins, the vines, rather being wrapped around things.
Mike Star:OK, so I'm going to jump into the woo-woo pool real quick.
Zuri Star:No, no, no, you can't say that You're going to jump into the call it anything else, because I'm really tired of people calling things woo-woo and it diminishes it and instead of like, we are evolved enough and we are awake enough and we are aligned enough, as our listeners are, that we don't need to diminish our abilities and our access points by calling them woo-woo, Indeed, all right.
Mike Star:so no more woo-woo. I got into my true self and I sat in front of my office, which was getting some sunlight. So I had some sun on me and I grabbed a piece of citrine and a piece of copper, both of which are known stimulants and healers of the solar plexus, and I had a solfegio frequency going on 417. 417, right, so I could sonically feel the effects. So I'm hitting the solar plexus on as many physical levels as possible.
Zuri Star:Because the solar plexus is like the sun, right, yes, so it's yeah.
Mike Star:Exactly so I went into meditation and the very first thing that I did is I allowed myself to be here right now, so I allowed myself to quiet my mind. I wasn't in my house, I wasn't in my chair, I was in my body right, so my body can be anywhere and then I focused on the sensations that were being generated through the sounds that I was listening to, the heat of the sun and the subtle vibrations of the two stones that I was holding onto, and within about a minute or two, I had a heat source in my solar plexus that was starting to heat up. I was like, oh, I feel something, ok, and I allowed that to kind of get warmer and warmer and warmer.
Mike Star:And then I was in a place where I was able to focus all of my awareness all my attention into that chakra, into my solar plexus, and that's where it was like turning on a light on an old empty room and he turned it on and it just cluttered with old shit right.
Mike Star:Old furniture dust, you know all that stuff. But all those things were shame, right, all those things were just lots and lots of shame and I physically felt like, oh yeah, I know what that feels like and it was so nasty that my first response was to let it go and drop it, which is what I've always been doing. I don't want to touch that. It's like picking up cat shit. You want to throw it down as fast as possible. You want to hold onto it.
Mike Star:Oh shit, it's gross, right? So I instinctively let it go and I was like, no, no, no, I'm here for this, I'm here for my shame, right? I'm here to connect with it, you're the shame conqueror, right.
Mike Star:So I was doing some shadow work and it was very difficult because there was so much there. So, as a meditator, I was able to use different imagery to get to what I was wanting, instead of walking into a room full of shit. What I did is I wanted to get to the source, so I imagined it as a point from which everything was radiating out of it. So imagine trying to swim to the bottom of a pool. If you can swim all the way to the bottom of the pool and find out where the plug is, you can pull the plug out and then all the water that you're swimming in is gone. So I was trying to swim to the source, swim to the source, swim to the source. And what I found?
Mike Star:It wasn't a plug, it was a seed, a seed like a corn seed, any seed that you're talking about a very, very small seed, and from that was radiating shame at such powerful intervals that it's almost as if I didn't know any other way. That was my life. It started off with shame, and then shame radiated out and affected every single one of my decisions. And we're talking about jumping different timelines. I effectively jumped on the same shame timeline with every single decision that I made, wow. So I was like well, can I pull that seed out?
Mike Star:And in my mind, in my meditation, I was trying to pull the seed out, but it was fixed because something had to be there. That was the point from which the pattern was unfolding. So I couldn't remove the seed. So I was like, how about if I split the seed in half? So I had this thought of me with a big old karate chop hand and I chopped the seed in half.
Mike Star:And the minute I chopped the seed in half, it was an incomplete pattern. So the pattern was no longer radiating Now, it was just bits and pieces, as if the sun were to suddenly stop and the planets were to start to wander off aimlessly in space. So now that those patterns are starting to disperse, and right in that very moment, I was like, well, something has to be there, because if I leave it like that, the vacuum will pull that seed back together and it'll still radiate that same pattern. So I, instead I put in the seed of the mantra of the solar plexus I can, whereas before it was I can't. I can't get this done, I can't get this done I can't get this project done.
Zuri Star:I can't get this done, which is just a learned behavior from very, very young. Somebody in your past was probably planting that seed for you.
Mike Star:Yes.
Zuri Star:Which happens to all of us. None of us can escape the seeds that get planted, and it's our job to break them open.
Mike Star:Kung.
Zuri Star:Fu in the mirror right.
Mike Star:And in some cases I feel like the seeds need to be planted and I felt like that seed need to be planted so that I can get to where I'm currently at with the current information, so that I can disperse it and help other people. So once I put that new seed in, the effect was immediate. Like all of a sudden, I have these flashes that came through my mind and it was me driving in different vehicles and seeing different images on TV where I would say, like you see a nice fancy car. The very first stop that came to my mind normally would be like I can't drive that car because I'm not worthy. Now it was replaced by oh, I can have that car, I can have that boat.
Mike Star:And it was so crazy that I was like flying over Miami Because we had just got back from Miami. Miami is a very wealthy city and I was looking at everything that I saw in Miami, to include the buildings, and I was like I can have that, because that's the true power of the solar plexus you can have anything you want, you can do anything you want with the proper application, provided that you have a genuine power source, an unobstructed power source, and my power source was obstructed Significantly was shamed. So the minute that I let go of that, I felt like the other chakras started receiving more information, more light, more power. And now I feel like I just crossed over into a different timeline where, instead of me being loaded with shame, I was loaded to the brim with infinite amounts of power, and then my capacity to love grew, my capacity to express myself. I have story ideas that I can feel, them on my fingertips.
Zuri Star:Which is why I was like we need to get you on the mic.
Mike Star:I can close my eyes and I can feel my mind connected with a higher mind. So my mind isn't in itself a-minded, it's now a transmitter receiver, so that instead of it me being my mind, it's like billions of minds throughout there. It's fascinating, it's very fascinating.
Zuri Star:And just by removing I can't and replacing it with I can, in a deep meditation of going through the shame, pulling it out or breaking in half essentially is what you said so that it can sprout a new seed.
Mike Star:Correct, and that's the eight, that and you saw the whole response that I did. And I was sitting there and I was like, wait a minute, I don't have any more shame, like it's gone, like, and just tears of joy were just flooding down my cheek because it felt fucking wonderful, and it still does. I mean, and I told you on the couch, I felt like I'm feeling as if one would feel if they won the biggest jackpot in human history Right, all the money, issues, all that stuff, just eradicated. You can now do anything that you want. Energetically, I won the jackpot. Like I just got a brand new body, like, oh my God, like, and I can look at all the projects and I can already see them done, whereas before I see like I can't finish this, I don't have enough time. Well, I can't get this done. I don't have enough time. Now, everything's already done. I just have to. I gotta sit down and I get to extract them.
Zuri Star:You know I get to be calm to it. You can have excuses or results. You can't have both.
Mike Star:Correct. And here's, and I'm going back to you, and here's the prop, the props to you. You know I was talking to you about how the chakras are always balanced. Right, you have seven chakras. So you're just above and just below your heart. You have your throat chakra and your solar plexus. They form those two chakras are kind of like they have a yin and yang attribute to them.
Zuri Star:Yes.
Mike Star:Right, they're kind of the brothers and sisters, so you strengthen one, you also strengthen the other. Which makes If you diminish one, you also diminish the other.
Zuri Star:Which makes sense. If you are an entrepreneur or if you're in any type of business and you have some unresolved shame and you're finding that you cannot articulate your value. That makes a lot of sense because your shame is literally blocking your throat chakra. Because they share an energetic your solar plexus and your throat chakra share an energetic balance and they will. If they're imbalanced, then you literally they're blocking each other, right Is what you're saying.
Mike Star:Correct.
Zuri Star:And one of the things that it gives a tangible example is that if you're not able to articulate your value, or not able to articulate the worth that you bring forth to the world, you might think, oh, I've cleared up my throat, chakra, but actually it could also be your solar plexus, which is your power center.
Mike Star:The crazy thing is, you know when, every time I get on the mic, I'm always carrying this lapis lazuli right, which is a combination of laserite the blue part and pyrite, which is, of course, a beautiful stone that addresses both your solar plexus and your throat chakra at the same time, right? So, going back to the Yin and Yang, you also have your sacral chakra, and your sacral chakra is connected with your third eye, which is why, in my opinion, the best sex that you can possibly have is with someone whom you are connected with, you have. You can physically see, right, not just you know their eyes, now I'm talking about, but I can see you Like I know all about you.
Zuri Star:So so, you mean energetically? Yeah, energetically, like see.
Mike Star:Energetically, yeah, exactly like I, can you know? It's like the whole avatar. I see you. Like I think that's where they're drawing that from right.
Zuri Star:Yeah, of course they are.
Mike Star:And then there's the root chakra and your crown chakra. So you always need to be grounded, but you also need to be connected, Right? So if you were, if you were, say you know, if you feel disconnected, it may mean that you need to get grounded.
Zuri Star:It's exactly why we stand during our podcast is so that we can stay rooted but accessible, that there's no kinks in the system.
Mike Star:Now get this right. So everyone has a pair. But the heart right. The heart stands on its own right the heart. Everything radiates from the heart. Right Love is the energy that animates the whole chakra system right. And then it's empowered, it's expressed, it's felt, it's known. You know all the different chakras have their different jobs, but the heart, the heart, needs another heart in order for it to have to feel. It's yin and yang, and that's where usury come in and that's where you know our loved ones come in right.
Zuri Star:So yeah, and if you're single, the beautiful thing is that it can be like a pet or it can be a best friend. It doesn't have to be a romantic, you know, married partner or whatever. It doesn't have to be that right.
Mike Star:Correct, correct. Yeah, it doesn't have to be. It doesn't have to be the person that you're married to.
Zuri Star:Right.
Mike Star:If it is, it's a bonus.
Speaker 3:Fuck yeah, if it is, then you have an empowered marriage.
Mike Star:Yup, you know, but it definitely allowed, and the reason why I wanted to share it with you right away is because I'm not gonna jump on a brand new timeline and travel through this timeline without you knowing that you're on this new timeline. Mm-hmm, Right like you're shotgun on my timeline and I'm shotgun on yours.
Zuri Star:Which is what builds intimacy between Mike and I is that we share all of these radical shifts with one another Immediately, immediately, like if we don't sense it. But we also take the time. We take time for tea, we take time to sit, we take time to ask questions and that is the foundation, really, of our relationship. We know each other and we see each other, and whatever relationships that you have, I recommend going to that deep, intimate place, whether it's your best friend or your, you know like whoever whoever's in your life. You know like everyone's lives look differently. And but go to the deep, intimate places because your heart chakra deserves it, needs it, longs for it, and I think we should play a quick game.
Mike Star:Yes, but I wanna address what you said for just a second, right. So we were talking about how you have all these things that are blocking our chakras, right? You have fear, guilt, shame, grief, lies and attachment, right? And then, of course, your crown is blocked by the rest of your chakras, right? So the other thing that popped into my mind as I was, as you and I were on the couch when I was processing, you asked a very, very, very, very important question, and that question is what are you gonna do now in order for you to move forward without stepping backwards, like as patterns are patterns because they become a pattern?
Zuri Star:Yeah, you gotta break the cycle.
Mike Star:So you gotta break the cycle. So the very first thing that came to my mind was what we do. We serve love. So I'm gonna serve love to my shame. I'm gonna serve love to my fears. I'm gonna serve love to my grief. I'm gonna serve love to all those things that are blocking my chakra. And that love, of course, is awareness. So, instead of me touching it every once in a while and feeling how hot or heavy or gross or cold or whatever it is, and then pulling my hand away because I don't feel like touching that today, instead I'm gonna sit down with them, I'm gonna learn from them, I'm gonna extract from those things the very thing that I need in order to make myself bigger, in order to expand.
Zuri Star:Can't be an expansion coach without expanding oneself.
Mike Star:So like, love your shame, love your fear, love your grief, love your lies, love all of that.
Zuri Star:What came up for me when we were reading out the, we're recalling what calls, you know what blocks each chakra, and when it got to the heart, it said grief. And I was like, oh, like it gave me a little bit of, you know, pain in my eyes. I was like, oh, what, what? And really all of us have experienced grief on some level, right, and I have found in recent times that my grief is not there as it once was, and the way that I've overcome it is I've loved it really, really, really intensely. Like it. Grief just represents that you have loved someone or something, and so the way that I've removed the grief is by loving it and by loving the people that I lost, you know. And so now, instead of like for a while I couldn't have my brother's picture up, for example Like I was, like I gotta put it down because I was feeling shame, I was feeling guilt, I was feeling all of these grief emotions.
Mike Star:And they're real feelings, right oh?
Zuri Star:my gosh, they're so real and once I worked through them, now, like at the end of a day of feeling like proud of my commitment to serve love, I like literally kiss it, like kiss my hand and I put it on his face, you know, cause it's like no, we're doing this together and it feels like I've loved myself through it and I've loved the people that I've lost through it and I feel so much more balanced in my offering of serving love from both masculine, feminine, light, dark, loss. Have you know, like we don't know what we're gonna lose tomorrow, today, like we don't know this, but we do know that if we continue to love ourselves and love people around us fully, in every moment possible to us, that there really isn't loss. There just is a different connection point.
Mike Star:Yeah. So, true.
Zuri Star:Should we play a very quick quote battle game? Let's do it, what do? We got. One thing I wanted to say right before we do this is that I said to Mike this morning cause, literally, this is an impromptu, we just came in and like, hey, we're gonna record this because Mike had this experience.
Mike Star:Less than an hour from recording this, I was like full tears. It's not.
Zuri Star:Hey, but that's part of being a coach and inviting you into our intimate life. Never stop growing Is that you're either growing or dying. So which one are you gonna choose? I'm gonna choose growing until it's time for me to no longer be here, till my time is up. So it requires us to expand and to share and to invite you into the process so that we can all become empowered together.
Mike Star:There's never a top that. You can always get higher.
Zuri Star:Yes, so I love that. What I wanted to say really quickly is that I said to Mike you need to ground this into your body, this new timeline with one thing, and that one thing is Serving love. That one thing is gratitude.
Mike Star:Gratitude.
Zuri Star:yes, that you need to lock it into your experience by being grateful and then you need to give it back. Once you've locked it in with gratitude, then it's time to give the gift back, because that's really the only way the universe in the playing field that we have right now. That's how the universe breaks. The pattern with us Is that it's like, oh, motherfucker got it, he got it. Okay, no more challenges on that level where he got it. Now we're gonna manifest with him. But until you lock it in with gratitude and until you give it back, there's still gonna have these weird tests where you get challenged to see if you actually got it, cause when you get it, you get it and you're like, oh, I have to give this back, this is giving, I'm giving this back right now, and cause it's not about you. You realize that oneness is not about you. Oneness is connection to everyone, to everything, and everyone in your life deserves the same gift.
Mike Star:It's almost as if the universe connected with me and said okay, Mike, I'm gonna use you for a second, so I'm gonna teach you a little bit about shame.
Zuri Star:Hold my beer.
Mike Star:Hold my green tea latte.
Zuri Star:Exactly Okay. So here's our quote battle. I'm gonna go first and I'm gonna start with. Shame corrodes the very part of us that believes we are capable of change.
Mike Star:Dude, that is so true. That's the feeling, that's.
Zuri Star:Brunet Brown.
Mike Star:That's the feeling being capable. I felt, as I was going through a time in my life where I was incapable of doing the things that I wanted to do. Therefore, I had even more shame. It's trippy. So I have one from Goyun. Shame is a soul eating emotion. A soul eating emotion. Imagine what that would look like. What would it take to eat a soul? Shame, shame's nasty. What do you got?
Zuri Star:Shame is an acid bath that eats away at the best parts of us. Whoa. Both of those visuals are nutty.
Mike Star:They are nutty they are nutty and they're designed to be nutty. See, you're like wait a minute, Let me think about read that last one again.
Zuri Star:Shame is an acid bath that eats away at the best parts of us. Yikes, these are, like you know, gory, so it's shame is a soul eating emotion, from Carl Jung. And then shame is an acid bath that eats away at the best parts of us, from John Bradshaw.
Mike Star:That's no good. So, yeah, let's get out of that acid bath, All right. So this is from Rick Warren. He states shame is a prison you put yourself in. And here's the crazy thing about the prisons that we put ourselves in we're always asking for release, but we're not asking the right person. We're always asking someone else. We're always in victim mode when we ourselves have the fucking blocking key.
Zuri Star:Exactly. Well, that was a good quote. Battle, amazing. Thank you. I feel that you are new and I again appreciate that you brought this, you called this, into your experience and that you've called this forward.
Zuri Star:And one of the things that I feel like where we are Yin and Yang in that way is that I was born into. The seed that was planted for me was that I really mimicked my father, whose name is Will, and he has, like this unending Will power For anything, for everything. I mean he's traveling through Europe right now and he's 86. Like he's jumping on trains and planes and living his best vacation life. So Will power is something that I was taught and it's something that I'm able to tap into, because I was taught that that seed was planted within me and yet the other seeds that were planted that I've had to split across. Like I said, kung Fu in the mirror. But you were like deep in thought. But, like Mike, when he really is feeling in a good mood, he'll do like Kung Fu in the mirror and it's hilarious. I always know when he's like feeling himself or when he's feeling empowered or excited. He's just Kung Fu in the mirror, usually like in nothing or like boxers.
Mike Star:Yeah, yeah, yeah, I like nude Kung Fu in the mirror. Very self, very self empowering.
Zuri Star:Yeah, you've done a lot of mirror work.
Mike Star:Like I was looking at myself doing that and my first thought was I wouldn't fight me, I wouldn't fight me.
Zuri Star:You wouldn't fight you. I thought you were gonna go to like silence of the land.
Mike Star:So I was like, oh, no, don't do that. I wouldn't fight you. No, wait for your say.
Zuri Star:I was just gonna say yes, that, like. Whatever seed that you need to split, do it without shame.
Mike Star:Correct and listening to how you know. Yes, very, very yin and yang. You know your father taught you about power, right, which is a very, very strong solar plexus attribute Mine, not my stepdad whole different ballpark. My father was my number one source of shame, right? I never knew him, and the things that I did know about him, he was.
Zuri Star:It was shameful.
Mike Star:He was a gambler, he was an alcoholic Don't go back, no, no, but in saying that, there's weight to it, that was the shame that I was carrying. There's a lot of shame, right, especially as you were growing into an adult and you have all these thoughts of what you're gonna be. And I can't be those because I came from that guy, right? So that's where the that's the seed that I was talking about, and that was a belief, right? It's not truth, it's just a belief and the belief is a pattern. So break the pattern, break the belief. And all of a sudden, I'm realizing that. And if I'm loving my shame, I'm loving the fact that he did that to me, I'm loving the fact that it took me as long as it took me to get to the place that I am right now, because of the contrast.
Zuri Star:Embrace the contrast, baby, as the contrast. As soon as you embrace it, you just you give yourself back the power of recognizing that everything is unfolding and happening exactly as it should, because it balances all of the universe. The playing field is a beautiful thing and all your power is there. All of your power is in recognizing that you cannot have just good. Why are we seeking that? That's not something that we're ever going to find satisfaction in. You have to embrace all of the various parts of this universe, and contrast is the number one driver. It's the number one thing.
Mike Star:So if you're living with shame or fear or guilt or any of those things, don't normalize it. Make it a normal practice to sit down with it. And if it's in meditation, that's great. If it's in therapy, or if it's you grounding, or if it's you really diving into the chakra systems and know how you can energize, do it.
Mike Star:But and I'm saying this because of how amazing you feel once you do so- how light you feel and you ask a self-made billionaire and they're gonna be like oh, the best time of my life was when I made my first million. That was his breakthrough. Everything else was just more of it. So I have more power and with that more power, I can create more power.
Zuri Star:Yep.
Mike Star:So when you came down to for coffee this morning, did you expect a brand new, freshly opened, weeping husband.
Zuri Star:Yeah, you know I don't look at crying as a bad thing because of our research into crying medicine, and you know I understand our culture does. But when I came downstairs I didn't. I knew something was different. I have an intuitive ability to know when something is a little bit different. I first internalized it and thought it was me. I was like, oh, this is what nine hours of sleep is like. It's delicious. Yes, I should do this more often. I've been really overdoing it. But no, I didn't expect a creep like creep, didn't mean to say that Crying and weeping turned into creep Creep.
Mike Star:Isn't that a TLC song? Then I creep, but it's a different creep though, right yeah, crying and weeping.
Zuri Star:Okay, we'll be sure of this again. I didn't expect you to be weeping which you weren't, by the way. When I came down, I just sensed power. That's what I sensed. Yeah.
Zuri Star:And I sensed money in physical form. I sensed money in energetic form, I sensed power. And when I sat down I looked at you and you're like I just had the craziest meditation. Your eyes were like wide clear. You know when you're like your best friend or your lover or whoever you were closest to. You know when they have like they're sitting on a secret, looked like you're sitting on a secret. I was like, oh shit, it's about to go down, it's about to go down.
Mike Star:When you sat down and I'm realizing you saw the sheer power that is now pulsating through my veins and cells and all that stuff which is also part of the guided meditation.
Zuri Star:I was like did you already drink coffee? What's going on?
Mike Star:I, literally I got to the atomic level of thought Like, oh my God, this is the point, the source, what you saw afterwards was the rebirth. You know when I was sitting or crying, when I realized that I let go of my shame. Oh my God, like it's gone, it's gone.
Zuri Star:And I've done that it's tripping.
Mike Star:I've done that.
Zuri Star:I've done different exercises with different coaches and stuff like that, where you go into the basement, you clear out the basement, shadow work. You know all of these different practices and I think they're all beautiful, but I think it's commendable that you came up with something that worked for you today to get to a different level of shame that you needed to clear out, which is beautiful. We have a question of the week and then we are going to end the show.
Mike Star:Indeed.
Zuri Star:You got a question.
Mike Star:You had your phone like this I think you're going to go like this Okay, so I put you on the spot. I think the question of the week is going to be just obvious what shame are you ready to let go of? What shame are you ready to let go of? Because now is the time, spring is in the air. Let it go plant a brand new seed. A brand new seed of you. It's amazing.

Zuri Star:Let's talk about kung fu. Let's talk about your kung fu. If we're talking about power and we're talking about how, I have recognized that when you're in a really empowered state, you tend to do a lot of kung fu.
Mike Star:Well, as a kid, and, mind you, it's not the kung fu that you see in the today's movies, where it's like super, super, all these ripped dudes. All the kung fu that I grew up with was the old old kung fu, where it's just these skinny dudes who look like me right, skinny dudes, not like 400 pounds and these crazy people. All these kung fu artists were also rigged on wires and they're floating through the air, and it had this connotation that that's what life would be like if you had full ownership of all of your body. You could fly through the air, you could fight 10, 15 people while drinking a cup of tea. You know, you can walk into a room and eyeball someone and be like mm-hmm, mm-hmm and that was a fight. That was it. I go. This guy's cheese way bigger than mine. I'm gonna back off.
Zuri Star:Yeah, and he would have the hand, would like ah, and then all of a sudden, the person would collapse. Exactly, exactly I feel like my brother used to watch those, so I caught it through osmosis.
Mike Star:So me being me kung fu and sometimes it's typically in the mirror, because I wanna see my form, I wanna see how, how-.
Zuri Star:He wants to fight himself.
Mike Star:I wanna see how opposing I could be right and I've always thought that, you know, I could actually probably get into kung fu, but I don't like being hit in the face, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, so there's a point where kung fu is cool, but in order to practice kung fu, you're gonna have to get hit in the face a couple times during the course of the day You're gonna get hit a lot and kicked and yeah.
Mike Star:So instead I go for the mirror kung fu, which the only time I can get hurt is if I get too close to the mirror.
Zuri Star:Yeah. You know, what I'm saying. That can hurt, that can definitely hurt.
